Comparison
Unlockable vs Fourthwall
Merch and digital products for creators with an audience brand.
What each one costs
Unlockable
20% total
20% of your list price. The buyer pays a 10% privacy & security fee on top, and card processing is covered by us, so £40 of content pays you £36.
- Platform fee
- 10% creator-side + 10% buyer-side
- Card processing
- Covered by Unlockable
Fourthwall
5% digital, Free plan
5% on digital products on the free plan, plus 2.9% + $0.30 card processing, and 5% on memberships. Pro at $15/month removes the digital-product fee. It is a merchant of record.
- Platform fee
- 5% digital (Free) / $15 per month (Pro)
- Card processing
- 2.9% + $0.30 on US card transactions
On Unlockable a £40.00 sale pays you £36.00: the buyer covers the privacy & security fee, and card processing comes out of our share. Platform fee and processing are shown separately for Fourthwall because a percentage that excludes processing is not comparable to one that includes it.
When Fourthwall is the better choice
Fourthwall’s 5% on digital products is a lower percentage than ours, and its Pro plan removes that fee entirely for $15 a month. It is also a merchant of record, so it handles sales tax, and it does physical products — print-on-demand, fulfilment and shipping — which we do not touch at all. If you sell merch alongside files, it is the only one of the two that does both.
When Unlockable is the better choice
Fourthwall is a shop that also sells digital files. We are a payment link for a single piece of content. If you want a branded storefront, a merch line and your tax handled, Fourthwall does more. If you want to drop one file behind one link tonight, there is nothing to design and nothing to configure here — but you will manage your own tax.
- You keep £36.00 on a £40.00 sale — processing is our cost, not yours
- The buyer pays the fee, so your listed price is what you intended to charge
- No monthly fee and no membership: nothing is charged until something sells
- Expiring links, view caps and unlock caps, for a drop rather than a download
- A voice note on the link, so a sale arrives with a person attached

Where these figures come from
Fourthwall’s fees were read from fourthwall.com/pricing on 26 September 2026. Pricing changes without notice, so check the source before making a decision on it. Unlockable’s own figures are our published 10% creator-side and 10% buyer-side fee, and Stripe’s UK card rate.
