What you can sell

How you would use Unlockable

  1. 1

Export the workflow JSON and upload it as a single link — that is the product.

  2. 2

Bundle the JSON, the setup guide and the walkthrough video into a collection so one price covers a working install.

  3. 3

Sell the whole pack at one price, and cap a link for a launch price on a new version.

  4. 4

Version it: sold as v2.0 to the first hundred buyers at a lower price, then at full price afterwards.

Why it works for automation workflows

An automation is one of the few digital products whose value is measured in hours saved rather than in scarcity. Four hours of node wiring, credential debugging and error handling collapse into a JSON file a buyer imports in two minutes. That asymmetry is why a workflow can sell for £29 while a stock photo sells for £2, and why the pricing conversation is about the problem rather than the file size.

The packaging is what carries the price. A workflow JSON alone competes with every free template on the platform and invites a support request from anyone who cannot work out where to put an API key. The same workflow with a setup guide, an environment variable template, example data and a walkthrough video is a product that installs cleanly and justifies several times the price. This is why the collection matters more here than on almost any other page: the JSON is the cheap part, and the documentation is the product.

What this does not solve is maintenance. Platform node schemas change, APIs are deprecated and rate limits move, so an automation sold as a one-off file will quietly rot. Versioning it — selling v2 as a drop, updating the files behind the link for people who already bought — is more honest than claiming it is permanent, and it gives you a reason to sell to the same audience again.

Invoice processing workflow

single file + guide

What these sell for: £19–£29 for a single workflow, £39 for a multi-step system. A pack of twenty-five with documentation supports £79.

On a sale the buyer covers the privacy & security fee, and card processing comes out of our share — so a £29 price pays you £23.20. See the full split.

Automation workflows questions

Will buyers be able to install this without help?

Only if you assume nothing. A workflow JSON on its own generates support questions, because the buyer still needs credentials, environment variables and a platform account. Bundling the setup guide and the variable template into the same collection is what turns a file into a product, and it is the difference between one sale and one sale plus an hour of your time.

Can I keep selling the same workflow for years?

Usually you should not, and pricing it honestly is easier than pretending otherwise. Automation platforms change their node schemas and APIs, so most workflows need maintenance. Versioning works better than pretending it is evergreen: sell v2.0 at launch, update the files behind the link for existing buyers, and sell the next major version as a new drop.

How do I stop someone reselling my workflow?

You cannot, and it is worth being realistic about that before pricing. A JSON file is trivially copyable. What reduces the incentive is a price low enough that copying is not worth the effort, and packaging that includes documentation and support the copier cannot reproduce.
