Why it works for educational content
Educational material behaves unlike other content. Demand arrives in cohorts at fixed moments — exam season, the start of a term — and the material is obsolete the moment the syllabus changes. Selling into that with a permanent store listing at a permanent price is a poor fit for how the demand actually works.
