Why it works for notion and workspace systems
Workspace templates sell the method, not the structure. Anyone can build a database with five columns; what they cannot do is know which five columns matter for a freelance business, or how to sequence a content calendar so it does not collapse in week three. That knowledge is what the buyer is paying for, which is why a template alone prices low and a template with a recorded walkthrough prices several times higher.
There is a practical step most sellers skip, and it matters: strip your own data before listing. Templates duplicate with content intact, so a workspace that still holds client names or real financial figures is a data protection issue. It is also the fastest way to lose a buyer's confidence, because a customer who sees someone else's invoices in a template they paid for will assume their own data is handled the same way.
What the link does not provide is the audience. Workspace templates spread through demonstration — someone sees the system working and wants it — so this rewards creators who already publish about how they work. The link converts that attention into a transaction and removes the marketplace cut in between.

What these sell for: £12 for a template, £29–£39 with a walkthrough. The method is the product, not the database.
On a sale the buyer covers the privacy & security fee, and card processing comes out of our share — so a £29 price pays you £23.20. See the full split.

Notion and workspace systems questions
Is a template with no explanation worth anything?
Much less than one with a method attached. A buyer can copy a structure in a minute, but they are paying because they do not know which structure solves their problem. A short walkthrough explaining why it is built that way and how you use it day to day is what turns a database into a system, and it justifies a price several times higher.
Do I need to remove my own data before selling?
Yes, and this matters more than it sounds. Templates are duplicated with content included, so selling a workspace that still contains client names, email addresses or financial figures is a data protection problem rather than an untidy one. Build the template from a clean copy and check it before it goes behind a link.
How do I keep buyers from resharing the template link?
You cannot fully, and Notion links are easy to pass on. What you can control is the price and the extras — the walkthrough, the setup notes, the updates — which a copied link does not carry. Pricing it as an accessible product rather than a premium one reduces the incentive to share it.
