What you package

How you would deliver it

  1. 1

Document the Zaps, the apps involved and the field mappings.

  2. 2

Bundle the templates with the guide so one payment covers a working install.

  3. 3

Sell a themed pack for a job — onboarding, invoicing, reporting — rather than unrelated Zaps.

  4. 4

Update the files behind the link as apps change their APIs.

Why it works for zapier creators

Zapier sits in an awkward place commercially: the tool is genuinely easy to use, which means the individual automation looks trivial, and the value is entirely in knowing which automations to build. That is why the sellable unit is a themed set that solves one named job rather than a collection of unrelated Zaps — the buyer is paying for the judgement about what to connect, not the connecting itself.

Documentation carries the price here more than anywhere else in the automation category, because Zapier buyers are usually non-technical. Field mappings, filters, path logic and what happens when a field arrives empty are the parts that take the time and cause the frustration. Written down, they turn a set of templates into a system someone can install in twenty minutes.

The limit is platform drift. App integrations change, fields get renamed and behaviour shifts, so a Zap pack is a snapshot rather than a permanent asset. Dating it, maintaining the files behind the link and treating a rewrite as a new version is the honest way to sell something built on a platform you do not control.

What these sell for: £19–£25 for a documented set. A themed pack beats a large one, because it is priced as an outcome rather than a count.

On a sale the buyer covers the privacy & security fee, and card processing comes out of our share — so a £19 price pays you £15.20. See the full split.

Zapier creators questions

Zaps look simple. Can they really be sold?

Individually, rarely — a two-step Zap is not a product. What sells is a documented set that solves a named job end to end, with the field mappings and filters worked out. The buyer is paying for the thinking about which apps to connect, in what order, and what to do when a field arrives empty.

Apps change their APIs constantly. How do I sell something that breaks?

Be explicit about the version and the date, and maintain the files behind the link. Zapier handles much of the API drift itself, but field names and app capabilities do change. A dated pack that you update is a far better product than one described as permanent that quietly stops working.

Is a themed pack better than a big bundle?

Usually. "Twelve unrelated Zaps" is hard to price and harder to want, while "the onboarding system for a design agency" is a specific job a specific buyer searches for. Thematic grouping lets you charge more, because you are selling an outcome rather than a count.
