Why it works for online guides
A guide is the smallest thing a person can sell and still have it be a product: one document, one link, one price. That makes it the natural starting point, and also the thing most often given away — published as a blog post, handed over in a DM, or buried in a newsletter where it earns nothing and is never found again.
The case for charging is not that the information is secret. Guides sell because they are organised, complete and available at the moment somebody needs them, and because a reader who pays £9 for a document reads it differently from one who bookmarked it. Bundling a worksheet or a checklist with it turns a document into a small system, which prices higher than either part alone.
The ceiling is real: a guide competes with everything free on the subject, so price it as an impulse purchase rather than reference material. If it is genuinely reference material, it needs to be substantially more thorough than what is already out there.

What these sell for: Guides are £4–£9 as an impulse buy, up to £15 with a worksheet. Priced above £20 it competes with reference material it cannot match.
On a sale the buyer covers the privacy & security fee, and card processing comes out of our share — so a £9 price pays you £7.20. See the full split.

Online guides questions
What should I price a guide at?
Low enough to be an impulse buy. A guide is usually a first purchase rather than a considered one, so £4–£12 converts better than £30 unless it is genuinely reference material.
Can I update a guide after people have bought it?
Buyers get whatever is behind the link, so replacing the file updates it for anyone who still has access. You can also sell an updated edition as a new link if the changes are substantial.
How do I stop people sharing the PDF?
No system prevents a determined buyer from forwarding a file, and it is worth being realistic about that. What you control is price, access and whether the link expires.
Start with one piece of content
Upload it, set a price, share the link. No monthly fee, no membership, nothing to pay until something sells.
